1. The short version

Efflora is local-first and account-free. Everything you create — your reflections, letters, farewell wishes, obituary, memorial, people, documents — is stored on your device. If you’re signed into iCloud, that data syncs through your own private iCloud account so it reaches your other devices and your home-screen widgets.

• We have no account and no sign-up — no email, no password, no social login.
• We run no backend server that stores your content. Codeful cannot see what you write.
• We use no third-party analytics SDKs, no ad SDKs, and no trackers.
• Efflora is free and contains no purchases.
• We do not sell or share your data with anyone, and never use it to train any AI model.

2. No account, no sign-up

You don’t create an account to use Efflora. There is no email address, no password, and no social login. You open the app and begin. Because there is no account, there is no profile for us to hold and no credentials for us to store or lose.

3. What data exists, and where it lives

The only meaningful data in Efflora is the content you create. It is stored on your device using Apple’s on-device database (SwiftData).

What we do not collect: we do not collect your location, health data, or advertising identifier, and we do not perform cross-app tracking. Nothing you write is sent to a server we operate.

4. Photos, camera & contacts

Some features ask your permission to reach parts of your phone. Each is optional, you grant it yourself, and everything happens on your device:

• Photos — to choose a portrait or attach an image to a document. Efflora reads only the images you pick.
• Camera — to scan a paper document into the app. The scan is saved on your device only.
• Contacts — to add a person by importing their name and number. Efflora imports only the contact you select, and reads nothing else.

None of this is uploaded to us. You can decline any of these and still use the rest of the app.

5. iCloud sync

If you are signed into iCloud, Efflora syncs your data through Apple’s CloudKit private database, in the container iCloud.app.codeful.Efflora. This is your iCloud — the same place your other personal data lives — so your writing and widgets stay in sync across your devices.

• The synced data lives in your iCloud account, not on Codeful’s servers.
• Codeful cannot read the contents of your CloudKit private database.
• If you don’t want to sync, turn off iCloud for Efflora in iOS Settings, and your data stays only on the device.

6. Sending a message or notice

When you send a letter, a memorial invite, or an obituary notice, Efflora hands the text to your device’s own apps — Messages, the share sheet, or your files — for you to send. Efflora has no server that sends anything on your behalf, and we never see who you contact or what you send.

7. Analytics, advertising & tracking

Efflora contains no third-party analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, and no trackers. We do not embed Facebook, Google, or any other tracking library, and we do not sell or share your data.

The only aggregate statistics we can ever see are Apple’s own App Store Connect analytics — anonymous, app-level numbers (like downloads or crash counts) that Apple provides to every developer. These never include your content and never identify you. You can opt out in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

8. Children

Efflora is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any data from children. Because there is no account and no data leaves your own device or iCloud, there is no profile of any user — child or adult — for us to hold. 9. Your data & deletion

Because your data lives on your device and in your own iCloud, you are in control of it at all times:

• Delete items directly in the app, any time (Efflora keeps a Trash you can empty).
• Delete everything — removing the Efflora app and turning off iCloud sync removes the data.
• Manage the iCloud copy from iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage.

Codeful holds no separate copy of your data to delete, because we never received one. If you have EU/UK (GDPR), California (CCPA), or Korean (PIPA) questions, write to us — but the controls above put deletion entirely in your hands.

10. Security

Your data is protected by your device’s encryption and, when synced, by Apple’s iCloud / CloudKit security in your private database (encrypted in transit and at rest). Because we run no server that stores your content, there is no central database of user writing to breach.

11. Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, except where the data-protection laws of your country grant you additional, non-waivable rights (in which case those apply).

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.
